Look what's been happening 2019 - 2020
Here are some of the prize winners on World Book Day 2020
The school librarians have launched the school book exchange. Lots of children have got a new book today.
Fairhaven Lake Canoeing Trip
Yesterday, 18 children in Y5/6 who had completed the challenge set by the Sports Council went to Fairhaven Lake. The children completed a 'Paddle Power Start' qualification. We also sketched the scenery and walked around the lake completing an A-Z of what we could see. We had a fantastic day! Please see the slideshow and video below.
Space Week 2020
In the first Spring half term, we held a Space Week in school. We had a visit from a mobile planetarium and loaned moon rocks from Nasa. The children had an amazing week and it was wonderful to see so many adults at the Science Exhibition after school. Have a look at the images below to see what happened.
Visit from Sir Lindsay Hoyle
On Friday 14th February, Sir Lindsay Hoyle visited school to talk about his role as Speaker of the House of Commons and his aspirations growing up. During this half term, we had been exploring aspirations in school and looking at what you need to do to succeed. Sir Lindsay Hoyle led a whole school assembly and then met with the Clayton and Whittle Alliance Pupil Parliament (Two children from the seven local schools). He discussed what the children will see when we visit on the 25th March.
House Launch Afternoon October 2019
In the Autumn term, we have been arranged into houses. The houses link to the local parks we study in our curriculum. They are Cuerden, Worden, Astley and Yarrow. Each week the weekly winners receive the team point trophy. All the prizes add up to a termly winner.
Meet our School Council
Each class voted for two new school council members. The school council meets weekly with Mrs Taylor to discuss how they can make further improvements to our school. Look at the pictures below to see who they are!
